Over the next few years, we will see more and more projects and initiatives that will seek that architecture re-imitate the forms of nature for the sake of the well-being of man on Earth.
For the architects of the 20th century, the architecture of the future has been represented by the architecture of the machines and by the great structural feats; However, for the new millennium the architecture of the future is one that maintains a close relationship with nature and that can even contribute to slow down the deterioration of the ecology with solutions inspired by traditional architectures.
Some designs of the architecture of the future are:
1. HYPNOTIC BUILDING:
The impressive wavy design, which will function as a pedestrian walkway over the Dragon King Harbor in China, is the work of NEXT Architects. The design of the bridge includes three individual spiral paths integrated into the picturesque Changsha landscape.
This design won an international competition related to a new public park in the area last year, and the project is already under construction.
2.INFLATABLE CONCERT ROOMS:
From the outside, it looks like a giant jellied purple and stuffed bean; from the inside, it looks more like a bright seashell. But this balloon-shaped thing is actually the world's first inflatable concert hall, and it's called "Ark Nova." The iconic British sculptor Anish Kapoor and the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki worked together to create this structure, designed to be able to cover the areas of Japan affected by the tsunami and the earthquake of 2011. It is a novel idea that could work perfectly in many more areas such as innovative design strategy.
3. COMPOSABLE TOWERS:
The temporary structure will be constructed using a new biodesign method that integrates organic material in its entirety.
As reported by Arch Daily in February, the tower will only need two new materials: organic bricks made by Ecovative, made with corn stems and root structures; and reflective bricks, designed by 3M, that would be used as culture trays for the organic bricks before being implemented in the structure.
4. WOODEN SKYSCRAPER:
It could become a reality if the Scandinavians C.F. Møller and Dinnell Johansson (the winners of the 2013 HSB Stockholm architectural competition) will continue their design of what would become the tallest wooden skyscraper in the world. The design is one of the three "ultramodern residential buildings" planned for 2023 for the center of Stockholm. The problem is that only one of the proposals can be built.
