SPACE FLIGHTS OF THE FUTURE

NASA has a new vision of space flights, the return of humans to the moon by 2020 in preparation for visits to Mars and beyond.
The missions to the moon are for the exploration of more distant worlds. The extended stays on the moon provide experience and knowledge for long-term space missions to visit other planets. They are vital for the future expansion of human presence in outer space.
Future human missions to the moon will be preceded by robotic recognition launches to identify places that can provide resources for astronauts.

These new NASA missions are led by the development of a new avant-garde spaceship with a retro feel.
The Orion Manned Exploration Vehicle remembers the design of the original Apollo missions but updates its systems with modern technology. The new capsules will be larger, with three times more cargo capacity and can accommodate a crew of four people. The new size has led NASA officials to describe the mission as an "Apollo taking steroids."

The new Orion capsule, which is launched coupled to a solid rocket propellant and an upper phase similar to that of the Apollo, is considered a more reliable and safe design for space exploration than the now familiar space shuttle.
Once in space, the flexible Orion vehicles will take and bring the astronauts to the International Space Station. They will also enter the lunar orbit, a location from which the probes can repeatedly visit the surface.
In the years after 2020, these spacecraft will be able to help assemble in orbit vehicles aimed at Mars to take the first humans to the red planet.
